About The Artwork This is the third in a series of 3 retro/vintage dolls, this little wahine is wearing a Korowai (feather cloak) and Tipare (headband) 'Hine' was named after Melissa's Great Aunt Hinemoa, who was named by a Maori Chief living in Waimate who struck a friendship with Melissa's Great Grandfather as they lived next door to one another - 5 of his children were named by his friend - Wanaka, Hinemoa, Rewa, Te Hira and Koa. Melissa loves this story of friendship from long ago, how much love and respect he had to ask his friend to name...
